How to set up Gmail in Outlook?
Due to a change in Gmail’s security policy, Less Secure App functionality has been discontinued by Google from 30th May 2022. Instead, they have come up with new security features, which include add-on verification steps to keep your privacy unharmed.
Recently many users have been facing issues in adding their Gmail account to the outlook client application because of the new policy and here is a new way to add your Gmail to outlook.
To add Gmail ID to your outlook application, you need to make changes in the Gmail setting, Please follow the steps to add your Gmail to Outlook
Step 1: Sign In to Gmail
Sign In to your Gmail account (Workspace or Personal).
Step 2: Go to settings
Go to Settings from the right-hand corner and click on See all settings.
Step 3: Enable POP/IMAP
Click on Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab then Enable POP or IMAP option to enable and click on Save Changes.
Step 4: Go to manage your account
After following the above steps, go to Manage Your Google Account.
Step 5: Turn on 2-Step Verification
Go to Security > Sign in to Google
Then Turn On 2-Step Verification by your phone number OTP or text message OTP methods.
Step 6: Go to App Password
After verification gets back to setting, you will see the App Passwords option below 2-Step Verification.
Step 7: Select the Device
After clicking on App password, Select Mail and Windows Computer respectively, and then click on Generate.
Step 8: Generate Password
After this step, you will see Password in the Yellow Background box, which you have to copy and paste while setting up your outlook account.
Step 9: Add Generated Password in Outlook
Add all details after adding an account to outlook and use the password as shown in Step 8.
